WARRINGTON has been named as the third best location in the UK for those seeking employment.

This is according to BroadbandChoices.co.uk, who have released the results to help those who are currently looking for work.

Pipping the town to the top spot were Crawley and Reading, while London, Southampton Bradford and Sunderland were named as the worst.

The figures are based on the number of unemployed people in a location, the number of jobs available and the internet speed in that particular area.

This is due to 82% of people in a survey of 1,342 stating that they relied on online resources and information to secure their current position.

Almost one in seven people in Britain also admitted to turning to social media when searching for a job.

Mark Pocock, Home Communication Expert at BroadbandChoices.co.uk, said: “Just two decades ago, some of the biggest online job platforms did not even exist.

“Today, it is very hard to imagine searching for a job without the internet as the first port of call and the most important resource of information.

“From uploading CVs and creating profiles on job websites, to conducting interviews and taking tests online, having a stable connection has become increasingly important for securing a job.

“Our study proves once again that fast and stable broadband connection is no longer a luxury but a necessity.”
