A BOY aged 14 who was stabbed in Chester on Thursday has now been discharged from hospital.

There had been some confusion over the teenager’s condition but Cheshire Police confirmed this morning (Tuesday, June 25) that he is back at home after receiving treatment.

It comes after a 15-year-old boy, who also attends Queen’s Park High School in Handbridge, appeared at Chester Magistrates Court yesterday charged with attempted murder.

He chose not to apply for bail saying he feels safer in secure accommodation for young people in Nottingham.

With his parents in court, he entered no plea and spoke only to confirm his name and age, and also to confirm he did not wish to apply for bail.

District Judge Nicholas Sanders sent the case to Chester Crown Court where a case management hearing will take place on July 8.

The defendant cannot be identified for legal reasons.
