Mum, 48, died before meeting her baby grandson, just four weeks after cancer diagnosis

Lesley Mann, 48, from Sutton was a loving mum to children Chelsea, Kylie and Megan and Nathan and gran to Casey-Leigh. She was also soon to be a gran to a little boy.

But four weeks ago all of their lives were turned upside down when her swollen tummy, which she put down to constipation, turned out to be advanced ovarian cancer.

The pain got so bad with her cyst that she was rushed in to Whiston Hospital on May 26 and on Thursday, June 20 was sent home.

This Saturday, June 22, she died surrounded by her children, partner Scott and friends.

Her family want to raise awareness of the 'silent killer' disease and give her a send off she deserves.

Janet Cafferty, 46, Lesley's best friend, who launched a JustGiving page on behalf of the family, said: "Lesley was a carer and loved all of her children so much and just doted on granddaughter Casey-Leigh.

"She would do anything for anyone and just kept putting her own needs off.

"She got took straight to hospital because her pain was so unbearable, it was horrible.

"They were going to send her for chemotherapy treatment in Liverpool Women's but she was too poorly even for that by the time they diagnosed her.

"I'm her friend and I'm heartbroken but her children are just devastated, they have lost their mum and I know Lesley was really looking forward to meeting her grandson as Kylie is pregnant now.

"They just want to give her a send off she deserves but to also make sure noone goes through what they have.

"They were with her when she died, no child should have to go through that.

"This disease is a silent killer, if you are worried about a swollen tummy or anything please just go and get checked."
