The District CE Primary School has received The Church School Partnership Award for its work of teaching christian values to its pupils.

The award was presented by Archdeacon Rodger from Diocese of Liverpool and Reverend Val Hughes from St John the Baptist Church on Monday and recognises the work churches and schools do together and how a programme of Christian values can make a difference not only to the lives of the pupils in a school, but also to the lives of a whole community.

Reverend Val Hughes, Vicar in the Newton Team said: "This award shows that St John’s and District School want to work together more and more, so we can help one another live out our Christian faith in today’s world."

Mrs Shelford, Headteacher at The District, added: "I am very pleased to receive this award on behalf of the school and governors as it recognises our relationship and strong links with St John the Baptist Church.

"The pupils at The District demonstrate our Christian Values daily, in all aspects of school life. "
