A SUSTAINABLE and waste-free market is to arrive in Warrington for the second time this year tomorrow, Saturday.

Sustainable Living, set up last year by Georgia Roberts from Great Sankey, is a not-for-profit business that seeks to promote eco-friendly produce for consumers at a reasonable price.

Georgia launched the initiative after starting a family and finding it difficult to find alternative and affordable choices for her son, and will bring her creation to Warrington Market this weekend.

“I'm really looking forward to bringing the Sustainable Living Market to Warrington for the first time,” she said.

“I found I would spend my evenings researching alternatives to products and looking into changes our family wanted to make, and from this research, Sustainable Living was born.

“The market is a brilliant extension our online shop, bringing together lots of amazing stalls and organisations together offline.

“It is a one stop for all things sustainable to give people chance to find out more about living an eco-friendly lifestyle.”

Sustainable Living made its debut at Croft Memorial Hall in April, with its success prompting Georgia to contact Warrington Market and organise a second event later in the year.

And the new venue seems particularly fitting given her grandmother used to own a health food shop in the old Warrington Market.

Cllr Judith Guthrie, cabinet member for environment and public protection, said: “We’re very excited to welcome Sustainable Living to Warrington Market and commend Georgia’s efforts to encourage people to use more eco-friendly products in their everyday lives.

“It’s great to see businesses like Sustainable Living leading the way on making sustainable products available and affordable for everyone.

“We can all consider what small changes we can make that will have a big impact on our environment.”

The Sustainable Living Market takes place on Saturday from 10am until 4pm. For more information, visit the Warrington Market Facebook page @WarringtonMkt.
