THE driver of a vehicle who failed to stop after an accident last night, Wednesday, fled the scene leaving a woman with a bleed on her brain.
Shortly before 6.30pm police were called to a report of a collision near the Tesco Extra supermarket on Winwick Road.
It involved a blue Mercedes, a blue Hyundai and a white car.
The white car failed to stop following the collision, travelling in the direction of the town centre.
The other two vehicles, one of which was blocking the road, were recovered from the scene.
A woman who was in one of the cars during the collision was taken to hospital via ambulance and has suffered a bleed on the brain and a contusion.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
