BE transported down memory lane when one of Cheshire's most well loved artists appears in Lymm.

Paul Frederick Bennett, who works as PF Bennett, will be appearing at CLK Art on Eagle Brow on Sunday, June 23 as part of Lymm's ever popular Historic Transport Day.

The artist, who paints from his studio in the village, will show a collection of his original work on the day and has agreed to dedicate the back of any artwork bought that day.

Thousands are expected to converge on Lymm for the event which starts with a drive-in parade of vehicles at 10.30am.

The May Queen field opens at 11am before the historic sail past on the Bridgewater Canal closes the event at 5pm.

Events take place across Lymm in between times with Lego exhibitions, traction engines, a massive range of classic and vintage vehicles and so much more to discover.

PF Bennett has produced personalised car commissions for motor car dealerships including Rolls Royce and Bentley, his art has landed with a host of A-list celebrities including Roman Abramovich, Amanda Holden, Tyson Fury and Des O’Connor to name a few.

A professional artist, designer and illustrator for over 50 years, P.F. Bennett was born in 1948 and grew up in Stretford, South Manchester. Treasuring his memory of meeting the famous LS Lowry while Bennett studied art and design at Salford School of Art, he remains inspired by Lowry to this day.

Using a combination of watercolour and pencil, Bennett continually listens to music while reminiscing his days growing up in the north.

His art depicts life growing up in Northern England.

Describing himself as a ‘Petrol Head’, it is not surprising that classic modes of transport are often featured in Bennett’s art.

Bennett includes subtle references or ‘clues’ to an individual song title, and the respective artist or group, within each artwork narrative.

He said: "My message to anyone would be; if you have a gift, no matter how small, feed it, nurture it, love it, use it as best you can and it will grow.”
