AN aspiring filmmaker from Penketh will screen a documentary on Sunday telling the miraculous true story of how her granddad’s life was saved.

Filmed by Holly McClellan, ‘Man at the Bus Stop’ reveals how Graham Houghton was revived by an off-duty A&E consulant doctor and ambulance crew after suffering heart problems.

And by creating the short film, the 20-year-old wants everyone to know about how her granddad was seemingly brought back to life and to express her thanks to those who helped him.

“Two years ago, my granddad died at a bus stop and was brought back to life with the help of an off-duty doctor, an ambulance crew and the mass amount of prayers being said for him,” said Holly.

“After having a heart bypass, he has made a miraculous recovery with no brain damage, the ability to walk and talk and he still has decent memory.

“I just could not believe how incredible this journey has been.”

After watching this journey step by step, Holly decided to piece together the documentary which tells the story of what happened from that day onwards.

The film will be shown on Sunday

“Throughout the months of my granddad’s recovery, my nan kept a diary which has since been made into a short book,” she continued.

“I felt that this should be shared further and to be made into an eight-minute documentary, giving everybody the chance to see the miracle.”

In making the short film, Holly has returned to the scene of the incident and has been able to meet with the people who helped to save her grandad’s life.

“I started recording little moments, such as when my granddad got on stage in our church for the first time in months to thank everyone, and have put them together to make this documentary,” she added.

“During March, I organised four shoot dates to interview the people who helped him and the ambulance crew who saved him.

“I want to dedicate this film to my family to make them proud, but to also commemorate the heroes that saved him.”

The film will be screened for free at 10.30am on Sunday at King’s Church in The Pyramid Centre, before being published online the following day.
