A MAN was rescued from the Mersey near to Bridge Foot last night.
Emergency services descended on the area near to the Mr Smith’s site at around 8pm yesterday, Monday, after a male in his 40s had become stuck in mud on a river embankment.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Services used a boat and a hydraulic platform in order to rescue the man before handing him into the care of paramedics.
He was then taken to Warrington Hospital, although his injuries are not believed to be serious.
Four fire engines were called to the incident, and remained on the scene for around an hour-and-a-half.
