BURGLARS raided a cash machine after breaking into a convenience store through the roof.

The Co-op on Common Lane in Culcheth was burgled for the second time this year at some point between 11.30pm on Sunday, June 9, and 12.30am today, Monday.

Entering the premises through the roof, the offenders stole a quantity of cash from the shop’s ATM as well as a quantity of cigarettes.

This is the second time this year the same Co-op store was broken into via the roof, with an earlier burglary coming in February.

Detective sergeant Tom Hall said: “We are determined to establish who carried out the burglary and bring them to justice.

“Enquiries are ongoing, and as part of our investigation we are appealing for members of the public to get in touch if they think they have information or CCTV or dashcam footage that may be relevant.

“Perhaps you were in the area and witnessed something suspicious, or maybe you have CCTV or dashcam footage of people or a vehicle that may have been involved in the burglary.

“We also want to speak to anyone who believes they may know who the offenders are.”
