LABOUR chiefs have announced the party’s borough council candidates for next year’s all-out elections for wards in Warrington North – with Chris Vobe among those to be selected.
It comes following the party’s shortlisting and selection event, which took place at Orford Jubilee Hub earlier today, Sunday.
Mr Vobe, son of Warrington North MP Helen Jones, held the Culcheth, Glazebury and Croft borough council seat between May 2012 and May 2016 before stepping down.
And he will be hoping to return to the Town Hall in under 12 months.
Council leader Cllr Russ Bowden, deputy leader Cllr Cathy Mitchell and former leader Cllr Terry O’Neill have also been confirmed as candidates.
Warrington North Labour Party says the party will field a strong team, from a ‘diverse range of backgrounds and walks of life’.

Warrington North Labour Party says it is ‘delighted to announce our superb candidates’ for the elections in May next year.
A spokesman added: “Labour will field a strong team, from a diverse range of backgrounds and walks of life.
“All of them are united in their determination to deliver the best deal possible for our communities, in the face of devastating cuts to local services imposed by the Conservative Government.”
Labour says further candidates for Orford, Birchwood and Westbrook will be announced in due course.
