GREAT Sankey Summer Fun Day is back on Saturday, June 15 at Tim Parry Recreation Ground, with a carnival theme which is sure to delight young and old.

This is the fifth year that Great Sankey Parish Council have organised this popular event and they say this year’s will be the biggest yet.

Lynne Brereton, deputy clerk for Great Sankey Parish Council said: “All the fun starts at 12pm and all rides are free of charge. "This year we’ve got inflatables, mini waltzers, zorbs, nerf net arena, bungee trampolines, donkey rides, a climbing wall, circus skills, face painting, stalls and refreshments being served at Park Road Café at the Tim Parry Community Centre.

“We have a huge outdoor stage and we’ve got an amazing line-up all raring to entertain the crowds.”

This year’s stage performances features up-and-coming band, Zenith, all band members are students from Great Sankey High School.

Dancers will also take to the stage to get the crowd up and moving.

The event organisers would like to make people aware that there is no parking at the event.

Where possible, residents are advised to walk.
