AN eight-year-old who wants to save the planet and wildlife for future generations has been taking matters into her own hands.
Summer Worrall from Great Sankey has proved herself to be a role model for young people by riding her bike to school and doing her own litter picks.
Her mum, Natasha, said: "I think she should be recognised for what she has done because she is only eight.
"She got picked as a eco-warrior in her school which means that one child in each year is picked to do things for the environment.
"She has been biking every day to school and for the last few weeks she has been going out every day with a bag until she has filled it with rubbish."
Summer, who is in year three at primary school, said she wanted to pick up litter because she didn't want to see animals hurt by it.
