RESIDENTS in Appleton Thorn are now facing rebuilding the village church wall for the third time.
The wall at St Cross church on the B5356 was partially destroyed at about 10pm on Saturday after a traffic accident, resulting in emergency services being called.
Sydney Edwards said: "It is an area which sees heavy pedestrian traffic, as it has access to Green Lane, which is a popular dog walking area, at all times of the day.
"This is at least the third time that the wall has been demolished.
"This section of road is notorious for traffic exceeding the speed limit and for heavy goods vehicles deliberately ignoring the weight limit signs.
"Recently members of the St Cross congregation have raised the problem of crossing this road due to the speed and volume of traffic."
