A HUGE swarm of bees caused a buzz at Beamont Primary School yesterday, Thursday, as the fuzzy creatures descended on the playground.
The unique sight was spotted by the school caretaker just before lunchtime and a bee keeper was called out to help.
Karen Morris, head teacher, said: "It was like a cloud of bees!
"The bee keeper was asked for them to be taken to a farm to be released."
While the school was concerned for the safety of the children, it did not want the bees to be harmed, especially as their numbers are currently in decline.
The O'Leary Street school amended its home time to make sure the bees were not disturbed.
Despite the bees being successfully removed, more have since returned to the school looking for a place to settle.
A bee keeper has been called to take them to safety.
