FIREFIGHTERS were called to a horsebox fire last night, Tuesday which was dangerously close to railway lines in Burtonwood.
At around 9.20pm, firefighters were called to Alder Lane in Burtonwood.
Two fire engines attended - one from Warrington and one from Birchwood and crews set up an inner cordon due to the fire being close to a railway.
The flames, heat and smoke were close to the rail power lines meaning the firefighters were at high risk of electrocution.
A representative from Network Rail attended to assist the crews to keep safe.
Wearing four breathing apparatus, crews used two hoses to extinguish the fire and dampened down the area.
The horse box was then checked for hot spots using the thermal imaging camera.
