A YOUNG beauty queen is set to jet off to Barcelona to compete in an international pageant.

Demi Holmes, from Woolston, was crowned Natural Beauty England in May last year, and is now set to represent her country in the international finals this weekend.

The 12-year-old Kings Leadership Academy pupil leaves for five days in Spain on Saturday, May 25, having raised more than £1,500 for brain tumour charity Abbie's Army.

Mum Sarah said: "She has been working really hard helping in the community, working with and supporting local charities and raising money through charity events for Abbie’s Army.

"She has raised an almost £1700 for the charity over the past two years.

"Demi leaves for Barcelona on Saturday for five fun-filled days, including go-karting, water parks, Hawaiian parties, pyjama parties, photoshoots and a day in the city – Demi then has to deliver a speech about her journey and charity work, and then walk the catwalk in national wear representing her country, fashion wear and evening wear.

"Contestants will be marked on charity and community work, charity fund raising, speech and how well they do on stage."
