A 19-YEAR-OLD has today been charged with slavery and drug offences which took place in Salisbury and Amesbury.

Jordan Essien of Queens Road, Lewisham was arrested on Tuesday in London following an investigation by Wiltshire Police's Dedicated Crime Team into crack cocaine and heroin being supplied from the capital to the South Wilts area since June 2018.

Appearing in Swindon Magistrates Court this morning, he was charged with: Being Concerned in Supply of class A drugs – Crack Cocaine; Being Concerned in Supply of class A drugs – Heroin; Human Trafficking under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Essien is expected to next appear at Salisbury Crown Court on June 14.
