THE M56 was closed this lunchtime over concerns for a man's safety.
Traffic was stopped in both directions at junction 10 for Stretton, with the incident having been reported to police shortly after 11.45am today, Monday.
The A49 on the roundabout above the motorway was also shut, with slip roads to and from the motorway affected too.
Queueing traffic was reported back to junctions nine and 11 at Preston Brook and Lymm.

But all closures were lifted by the emergency services shortly before 12.30pm.
