THIS is the aftermath of a huge fire which broke out in a warehouse at Rivington Court in Woolston.

The roof of the warehouse was well alight when crews arrived yesterday, Monday and most of it has collapsed.

Ten fire engines attended the scene when the fire broke out at 11.30am and crews were still at the scene until shortly before midnight, dampening down the area.

They have also removed the contents which could be salvaged from inside the warehouse.

A fire investigation is now underway, with a building surveyor carrying out a survey and liaising with local businesses.

A Cheshire Fire spokesman added: "At 12pm today, Tuesday, firefighters completed a final check of the building using a thermal imaging camera and then handed the building to demolition contractors."
