FATBOY Slim has announced an intimate hometown show.

The DJ, whose real name is Norman Cook, will play the Old Market in Hove on Monday, May 27.

Tickets go on sale on tomorrow and will cost £49.50.

However this is not your typical gig – Fatboy, who lives on Hove seafront – will play for a whopping four hours.

It is all part of the Old Market’s Gig For A Gig scheme.

The DJ will be donating all the proceeds from the show to the Old Market to continue its “vision to support and host exciting and innovative emerging artists”.

The scheme means big-name performers playing intimate headlining shows at The Old Market to support new talent.

Fatboy has said the show will act as an “apology” for not bringing his recent arena tour to Brighton.

He said: “Brighton – think of this as an apology.

“I wasn’t able to bring the full 360-degree arena show to Brighton during the last tour so this is a special one-off mini version of the show.

“I can’t wait to see you there.”

The team at the Old Market hopes the scheme, with big-name musicians playing the intimate venue, will help ensure young, emerging artists are able to break through.

Mark Gordon, marketing manager at the Old Market, said: “The Gig For A Gig scheme is our way to help the next generation of artists take the next step in their careers and we’re beyond delighted that Norman Cook has generously donated his time to the cause.

“As a cornerstone of the British music scene, we couldn’t ask for a better artist to kick off this exciting series of events.”

Fatboy Slim has recently completed his UK arena tour.

The run of British shows then ended in unique fashion as he played another intimate headline show – in a fan’s flat.

Fatboy, in partnership with Deliveroo, had offered one fan the chance to host the final night of the tour at their home.

The winner was a call centre worker from Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.

Fatboy took along huge speakers, DJ decks, and pizza for everyone, and gave him and his friends a night to remember.

It took ten hours and a team of 12 to transform the property into a party pad.
