A CHARITY is celebrating a £90,000 grant.

Brighton’s Carousel supports people with learning disabilities to achieve their artistic ambitions.

It has been given the cash by the charity Make Some Noise, which has announced grants to small good causes across the UK.

Make Some Noise helps other small charities and projects across the country and is run by national radio station Global.

Global owns stations such as Capital, Heart, Classic FM and LBC.

Carousel was expecting a grant for £24,000. But thanks to the generosity of radio listeners, Make Some Noise was able to donate £90,000.

Dave Lavis, of Carousel, said: “Opportunities for young people with a learning disability to express themselves and ‘make some noise’ of their own are increasingly scarce.

“Often with additional sensory impairment, physical disabilities and communication difficulties, they often face bullying and isolation.

“The money raised by Global’s Make Some Noise and the listeners of Heart Sussex will enable access to a range of Young Carousel projects across music, radio and film, providing a means of communication and expression for disadvantaged youngsters.”

Carousel is an award-

winning charity which supports people to achieve their artistic ambitions through film, digital media, music and spoken word. Every year, grants are awarded to small charities across the country to help fund the vital services it offers.

Since its launch in 2014, Make Some Noise has raised more than £15 million and supported 224 charities and projects, helping 73,000 children and young people, and their families, across the country.
