Llanidloes’ 100-year-old birthday girl celebrated with a special party surrounded by friends and family.
Nance Marjorie Griffiths marked her centenary with a birthday bash that was attended by her two surviving children, six grandchildren and nine great-children at Maes-y-Wennol Care Home.
Staff at the care home held a celebration for Nancy at which she was presented with a birthday cake and everyone sang happy birthday.
A native of Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire, Nance says she enjoyed a very happy childhood with her three older siblings.
During the Second World War, she married Arthur ‘Roy’ Griffiths and brought up their three children, Wynne, Margaret and Hugh, in Kidwelly before moving to Luton in the early 1970s.
Roy sadly passed away in 1982 but Nance remained in Luton before moving in 2000 to live in Newtown then she moved to Maes-y-Wennol Care Home 15 years later.
