POLICE have issued new CCTV footage of a man they wish to speak to following a stabbing in a town centre nightclub.

A man was slashed in the face with a sharp implement in Block 1 shortly after midnight on Sunday, March 24.

But nearly a month on, his attackers remain at large.

Cheshire Police say no arrests have yet taken place concerning the incident, and enquiries remain ongoing.

And the force has now released new CCTV footage of a male officers wish to speak to in connection with the attack.

The victim was standing on the dancefloor of the Bold Street nightclub when he was involved in a verbal altercation with a group of men.

He was then seriously assaulted, suffering a laceration to his left cheek which required hospital treatment.

It is believed that the man was left with a gaping wound which required plastic surgery.

Cheshire Police had earlier released CCTV footage of two men wanted to trace following the serious assault.

Detective constable David Wynne said following the attack: “This incident took place in a busy nightclub in Warrington town centre, and there were a number of people in the club at the time who may be able to assist with our investigation.

“I’m particularly keen to speak to the two men in the CCTV images, as I believe that they may hold vital information.

“I would also like to appeal directly to the men in the CCTV images to get in touch.”
