"After a short pursuit, the car crashed on the A50 and a 24-year-old man from Salford has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, drink driving, drug driving and failing to stop for a police officer."

The crash resulted in the closure of the A50, Cliff Lane, heading towards Warrington due to the traffic light pole blocking the carriageway.
