POLICE were called to the scene of a car fire in Orford.

The blaze involved a Mitsubishi on Sharp Street at about 3.20pm on Monday.

Warrington Guardian:

One fire engine was dispatched from Birchwood, with firefighters discovering on arrival that a hybrid car was also ablaze.

Wearing breathing apparatus, one firefighter used a hose reel jet to bring the fire under control, with a second then using another hose to help to extinguish the fire.

One person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and light burns.

In total, the fire crew spent an hour dealing with the incident.

Police located the burnt out vehicle at 12.40am this morning, Tuesday, and it was later recovered.

The area was then made safe and a police spokesman said officers then informed the council of the incident.
