A NEW festival to enhance the lives of adults with autism and learning disabilities is set to take place next month.

Step into Spring will take place on Wednesday, May 8, at Victoria Park Arena, and is a free with a variety of fun activities on offer to appeal to everybody.

The festival has been set up by charity Creating Adventures and the Warrington Wolves Foundation to provide fun activities for those involved and ultimately improve their quality of life.

Jenny Allcock, founder of Creating Adventures, said: “Our Step into Spring event is a great opportunity to bring some fun and activity to the lives of adults with autism and complex learning difficulties.

“Events like this are essential in helping to improve the health and wellbeing of so many adults in our region.

“We are really excited to be collaborating with the Warrington Wolves Foundation and can’t wait to see everyone’s hard work come together”

Starting at 10am, the festival will be a full day of activity, fun and games as well as expert coaching for different sports.

There will also be yoga and dance sessions to get involved in, fun stalls and pamper treatments thanks to the Village Hotel.

Neil Kelly, director of the foundation, added: “We are really looking forward to working with Creating Adventures with the Step into Spring event.

“Providing much needed activities with a sprinkle of magic from the Wolves will only enhance the enjoyment of adults in our society that are neglected.

“We want to support Creating Adventures in breaking down barriers and tackling them head on with fun days like this one.”

Creating Adventures was set up to bring laughter, stimulation and enrichment to the lives of adults with autism and learning disabilities.

For many, age is merely a number and they still want to enjoy many of the activities they will have enjoyed as a child but are not available to them now as an adult.

The charity hopes to make the Festival an annual event and would like to thank Sellafield Ltd, Coop Local Causes Fund, Moto in the Community, Asda Foundation and Tesco Bags for Help Fund who have all helped to financially support the day.
