POLICE are investigating after horses were attacked by an ‘out of control dog’ in Grappenhall Heys.
Officers were alerted to the attack at around 5pm on Monday, April 8 – with one of the horses having suffered ‘several puncture wounds’ in the incident, involving a Staffordshire bull terrier.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At 5.12pm on Monday, April 8, police received a report of a dog attacking a horse.
“The dog, a Staffordshire bull terrier, was being walked by a man and a woman.
“They refused to give details to the owner of the horse before leaving the area.”
