THERE’S a chance to hear from Pride of Britain award winner Ted McDermott – aka The Songaminute Man – at Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub next month.
Simon is the son of 80-year-old Teddy Mac, who has Alzheimer’s disease but can still remember the songs of his youth.
The pair raised more than £150,000 for charity after a video of Ted singing in the car went viral around the world, showing how music has helped to connect to people living with dementia and the joy it can give to them and their families.
In the upcoming talk, organised by LiveWire’s community librarians team, Simon will discuss life living with dementia and what he and his family have learned on their journey so far.
The event is at Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub – itself a purpose built dementia friendly building – on Wednesday, May 15 from 6.30pm until 8pm.
The event is free but bookable in advance at any LiveWire library.
