A WANTED man is believed to have successfully fled from police by jumping into the Mersey.
Officers were called to Knutsford Road in Latchford at around 3pm on Tuesday, April 9, after reports of sightings of a wanted male in the area.
A heavy police presence was reported near to the Halfords Autocentre, where it is thought that the suspect may have jumped into the Mersey.
He remains at large and is described as having a ‘long scruffy beard and tatty hair which is balding at front’.
