A TEENAGER has been handed a four-month detention and training order after carrying a kitchen knife in a public place.
The 17-year-old boy, who lives in St Helens and cannot be named for legal reasons, was in possession of the blade on Market Place in Wigan on January 26.
Two days earlier on January 24, he also caused £175 worth of damage at a home in Wigan and breached a restraining order imposed against him on the same day.
The defendant was sentenced at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Monday.
