FIREFIGHTERS rescued a person who was trapped in a car after a crash yesterday afternoon, Wednesday.
Crews used cutting equipment to remove one of the doors to get the casualty after the collision between two cars on the junction of the East Lancashire Road and Rainford Road in St Helens at around 12.30pm.
The person was then taken to hospital.
People in the second car were out of the vehicle when crews arrived.
Two fire engines and a search and rescue appliance were called to the scene.
Police were also in attendance.
