WA2 Live is returning to Orford in August with seven bands and artists paying tributes to various different music eras and styles.

Manchester’s Stax Of Soul, influenced by the soul scene of the 1960s, lead the line-up and will play the hits of the likes of Otis Redding, James Brown and Aretha Franklin at the open air event with capacity for 1,200 revellers.

They will be joined by Oaces, Spice Girlz, A Touch of Little Mix, Warrington’s own Scratch, singer-songwriter Zoe Unsworth and Rather Be Jess Glynne at the Tetley Walker Club in Long Lane on Saturday, August 10.

Oaces formed shortly after the dust settled on Oasis’s career to help make the rock and roll stars live forever. The band hand-pick songs from each Oasis albums for an all encompassing experience for fans. Spice Girlz recreate not just the songs but the look, style and dance routines of Spice Girls’ huge back catalogue of hits.

Now in their fifth year of touring, A Touch of Little Mix are described as the closest you can get to the original X Factor winners with hits like Shout Out To My Ex and Black Magic.

Hard touring band Scratch formed in January 2018 and have been quickly making a name for themselves on the Warrington circuit.

Warrington Guardian:

Described as a ‘living, breathing mixtape’, the trio play mash ups of dance, funk and pop.

Zoe Unsworth is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter who has supported the likes of Scouting for Girls and The Lightning Seeds.

Rather Be Jess Glynne completes the line-up where as well as performing the star’s many hits, singer Adele mirrors her stagecraft and mannerisms.

WA2 Live launched in 2018 when boy band Five headlined the event.

Organiser Jamie Fildes, director of Live Events, said: “It was a fantastic atmosphere last year, a great day for Orford. This year we are hoping for some more good weather and another great event.”
