And the numbers, enthusiasm and professionalism on show was impressive, highlighting how the players are having fun but also meaning business in the forthcoming season.

“I like how they involve the women around everything,” said the back-rower ahead of the team’s debut season in the Championship starting away to Barrow on Sunday, April 7.

“It’s not just men’s, women’s and girls, it’s Warrington, it’s everybody.

“Seeing training here for the youth it’s a really exciting atmosphere.

“I can’t wait to see what comes of it with a pathway for the young ones to get to where we are in the open women’s group. It’s awesome.”

The women, and girls in the newly created under 12s, under 14s and under 16s teams, train on the same night.

There is also a development group of under sevens to under 10s players.

“They’ll have all the young ages training and then the women train after them,” said Mura, who first started playing touch rugby in New Zealand before taking up the ‘contact’ game.

“Some of the young ones stick around and watch us. It’s inspiring just to see somebody looking up to us. It’s amazing.”
