FOLLOWING the launch of the Big Warrington Clean Up, Warrington Guardian readers have been sending in pictures of their litter picks and blighted hotspots.

Tony Dixon highlighted the rubbish dumped along the Manchester Ship Canal in Latchford by the Transpennine Trail.

The shopping trolleys were returned to Morrisons and the rest had to be left by the nearest park bin.

Meanwhile the team at The Waterside pub on Centre Park battled the rain at the weekend to collect an incredible 32 bags of rubbish from the river path.

Daniel and Amanda Crilly, general managers, took their children Nicole and Jaiden along with team members to the litter pick.

Graham and Tracy Gowland along with their children Bea and Ben joined in the effort to shift the rubbish which included one full glass bin for recycling.

Daniel said 90 per cent of the 32 bags of litter will be recycled.
