A SALON is raising money for a defibrillator to potentially save the life of staff, clients or members of the Grappenhall community.

Hair 2 Order, based in Knutsford Road, has realised the importance of having a defibrillator close by, but need to raise more than £1,000 to cover the cost.

Only three per cent of cardiac arrests happen within the recommended retrieval distance of a defibrillator and the salon hopes that the addition in Grappenhall will benefit the entire village.

Kay Thomas, from the salon, explained: "Recently, the staff have undertaken basic life support training including how to use a defibrillator.

"We realised how important the benefits and reassurance of having a defibrillator machine in the salon would be to the staff, clients, and our community.

"Therefore, we have decided to hold a few fundraising events coming up soon to help support us in reaching our target of £1,000 so we are able to purchase this crucial machine."

Events will include a cake sale on March 15, a table top sale on March 22 and a £5 blow dry bar on March 23.

The salon has an ongoing raffle with various prizes which will be drawn on March 29, priced at £1 for ticket.
