AN apprentice is calling on others to pursue the career they have always wanted by applying for an apprenticeship during National Apprenticeship Week 2019.

Carla Bernardino, 45, from Great Sankey is a process automation engineering apprentice working at Amazon in Warrington.

Carla started her apprenticeship with Amazon in 2018 and is working towards a qualification to become a process automation engineer after four years of training study with Amazon and Trafford College, Manchester.

This week, Amazon is announcing that it will create a further 1,000 new apprenticeships in fulfilment centres and development centres across the UK, including 38 new apprenticeships in Warrington.

Speaking about the Amazon Apprenticeship Programme, Carla said: “It’s been fantastic and inspiring to work with such experienced and knowledgeable people and I’m excited for what the future has in store.”

For anyone in Warrington thinking of applying for a place on the Amazon Apprenticeship Programme, Carla has some advice.

She said: “If this is your thing, then there’s no better place to do it.

“Don’t look back, look forward.

“Put some effort into your application and go for it.

“You won’t regret it.”
