TEMPERATURES are tumbling with storms and snow now forecast after our February heatwave.
The unseasonal warm weather has come to an end with thunderstorms and a chance of snow now on their way.
After a few days of record-setting heat, cooler, wetter and windier weather is on the way across the UK.
Here's how the forecast is looking according to the Met Office including the UK long range forecast which mentions a chance of snow towards the end of the month:
Today
It will be much cooler and cloudier than in recent days.
Showery rain, perhaps heavy, will reach the coast during the morning and spread across the region later. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Tonight
Patchy evening rain, mainly in the south of the region, will gradually disperse, leaving cloudy and mild weather overnight. Minimum temperature 5 °C.
Friday
Friday will be cloudy and mostly dry, though there may be a few patches of light rain or drizzle. Heavier rain will arrive in the evening or overnight. Maximum temperature 12 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday
After an increasingly bright morning, rain and strong winds will arrive on Saturday afternoon. Sunday and Monday will probably be bright and breezy, though showers are possible, mainly on Monday.
UK LONG RANGE WEATHER FORECAST
Monday March 4 to Wednesday March 13
Monday will be largely cloudy, wet and windy with showers or longer spells of rain for many, and possibly some hill snow, although details are currently uncertain.
The best of any drier weather will probably be in the north.
Spells of wet and windy weather are likely to continue through the rest of the week, interspersed with some drier, brighter periods.
Further strong winds and gales are likely in exposed areas, particularly in the north west.
Temperatures will be near or slightly below normal for the start of spring, perhaps temporarily milder as weather fronts move across.
On high ground in the north, it may be cold enough for some snow to fall, and there is the continued threat of overnight frosts where skies clear.

Thursday March to Thursday March 18
Unsettled weather is likely to continue for the middle part of March.
Spells of rain and strong winds are likely with brighter showery periods in between.
The heaviest rainfall will probably be in the west, and snow is likely over high ground in the north, possibly to lower levels here at times.
There will be periods of mild and cold weather, with overnight frosts still possible.
By late March confidence is very low, but there are signs that the weather could become more settled with prolonged drier spells.
