WORK to create new science labs at a Great Sankey school is well under way.

As previously reported in the Warrington Guardian, the former infant school building at Barrow Hall Primary School was demolished last year.

Now work is under way to build to block which will house 11 laboratories to be used by Great Sankey High School.

In planning documents, it has been confirmed that the science block will deliver ‘up-to-date facilities’ at the Barrow Hall Lane school, and together with existing buildings would ‘form a central plaza feature with a high quality outside space’.

The old junior building will also be demolished to create extra space for the expansion of the high school.
