LLANDUDNO lifeboat has celebrated the achievements of crew members with the presentation of awards.

The awards were made at the annual lifeboat ball held at the St George Hotel, Llandudno. The occasion marked the extraordinary dedication of all the RNLI volunteers, and the much valued support and understanding of wives, husbands, partners and families of the volunteers.

Robbie Shields who has served as a crew member on both the inshore and the all weather lifeboats received a long service medal from Captain Marcus Elliot the Llandudno operations manager.

Dan Jones MBE and Daniel James were awarded the RNLI framed Certificate of Service marking their extraordinary record and expressing the thanks of the trustees of the RNLI.

For Daniel this was in recognition of valued service as assistant coxswain of the all-weather lifeboat the Andy Pearce and as an assistant mechanic.

In Dan’s case for 35 years service as a crew member, coxswain and most recently head launcher. In 2011, Dan was awarded an MBE for his dedication to the service.
