A LYMM nursery has scored the top rating following an Ofsted inspection.

The Rosebank Centre was named outstanding following the visit in January.

Management was described as ‘inspirational’, partnerships with parents were outstanding and children made good progress.

Sadie Hopley, educational director, said: “We are pleased that the great work by our fabulous team of staff has been recognised.

“In particular, we are proud of the observation that our children’s language development is astounding in relation to their age”.

The inspector said the well-qualified and experienced management team is ‘truly inspirational’.

He added: “A culture of highly reflective practice is deeply embedded within the whole staff team. Together with suggestions from parents, they are constantly reviewing and adapting their already excellent practice.”

Care routines for babies was said to match those at home with staff knowledge of individual needs described as ‘remarkable’.

The report added: “Parents speak very highly of the manager and staff.

“The manager monitors children’s progress meticulously and she has an in-depth knowledge of each child.

“She meets regularly with staff to discuss children’s progress. She swiftly identifies the slightest emerging gap and provides expert interventions.

“Managers from linked settings moderate staff’s assessments. This helps to ensure that they are of a consistently high quality and accurate.”

Professional development was ‘excellent’ and led to an ‘abundance’ of daily physical activities for children including yoga and dance.

The report added: “Staff skilfully monitor children’s physical activity to ensure that they receive the recommended daily amount.”

While language development was rated as ‘astounding’ in relation to the age of the children.

Rosebank, on Pepper Street, has been working with children in and around Lymm for nearly 30 years.

A spokesman said: “It is a wonderful celebration of combining indoor and outdoor activities, and working with parents to provide the very best of environment for children to learn, play and develop.”
