A COMMUNITY group in Culcheth is offering a 14-week course for those who need a helping hand.

Encounter Hope is a 12-step programme that helps people overcome their problems and starts tomorrow, Tuesday.

It will meet on Tuesdays from 7.30pm until 9.30pm at Culcheth Christian Fellowship in Hob Hey Lane.

The group is perfect for those feeling stressed, anxious, isolated, addicts or those who currently rely on unhealthy coping strategies.

Pat, a previous member of the programme, said: "Coming here has made a tremendous difference in my life.

"I have come out of the shadows of my life and learned to be real- not apologising for living, just to be myself, gaining confidence to be the person I was created to be!"

Gary, another previous attendee, said: "I came here over a year ago and since that time I have drawn great strength and found good friendship with people.

"I have enjoyed an environment where I have been able to be open and honest without being judged."

Each session will include practical talks and advice, free snacks and hot drinks.
