A TREE in Penketh has been chopped down after the roots were causing ‘structural damage’ to a property.
The tree, on Honiton Way, was subject to a tree preservation order before an application to remove it was approved.
A council spokesman said: “A tree located on private land at Heathside, Honiton Way, was the subject of a tree preservation order.
“An application was made and approved to remove the tree as the roots were causing structural damage to the property and a safety risk to visitors.
“Three replacement trees will be planted on site.”
