POLICE have released CCTV footage of a man they wish to speak to after jewellery and cash was stolen during a burglary in Orford.

The property on Chiltern road was broken into at around midday yesterday, Wednesday.

A man, believed to be in his 20s, was seen loitering down an alleyway near to the house at around 11.30am.

While the victim was outside on the driveway, the burglar went into her home through the front door and stole a number of items – including a quantity of cash and jewellery.

The man - who is described as being around 5ft7 and of medium build, and who was wearing a black leather jacket and black jeans - was disturbed by the occupant in her bedroom as he attempted to flee through the window.

He instead made his was past the victim and left through the front door.

Cheshire Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to trace in connection with their investigation.

Detective sergeant Tom Hall said: “If you think you recognise this man in the CCTV image or you believe you know who he might be, please get in touch with us.

“I would also like to appeal directly to this man to get come forward, as we think he may have vital information which could help with our investigation.”
