TIMPERLEY Cons overcame a battling Budenburgs 4-3 to retain second spot in the Altrincham and Sale Round the Board Darts League.

Budenburgs came out fighting, taking the opening game to put the pressure on the Cons.

The next went the Cons way, evening things up and this theme continued throughout the match until the final game and even then it went down to who could hit the bull first before Cons took the points.

The Cringlewood are on the same points as Cons but with a slightly poorer average on legs and on Monday they managed to close that gap with a 5-2 win against the Station.

The local derby of Central verses Broadheath Central took place with the latter taking the spoils 6-1.

Broadheath got off to a great start with wins for Steve Holt and Darren Wood before Central hit back with a win of their own, courtesy of Brian Kearsley.

However, Broadheath showed their class by taking all the remaining games.

Elsewhere, leaders The Jolly Butcher continued their winning ways with a 6-1 win against a strong British Rail side.
