HOUSE prices in Warrington jumped up by more than £16,000 last year - the fourth biggest leap in house prices of any UK town or city in 2018, Land Registry data has revealed.
Average property prices in Warrington rose 8.6 per cent from 2017 to £201,466.
318 of all 406 local authorities saw prices rise in 2018, while 88 saw them fall.
The average growth rate across the UK was 2.6 per cent last year.
House prices in Liverpool increased by 7.3 per cent to an average of £137,163, putting the city in eighth place.
Charles Haresnape, CEO of Gatehouse Bank, said: “It was an unpredictable year for house prices in 2018 and in the end, although the market only just outpaced inflation on the whole, there were still some stand out performances."
