MEMBERS of the Cheshire Freemasons and those from neighbouring counties made a joint donation of £12,000 to the North West Air Ambulance Charity.
The service takes advanced healthcare support to incident across the region, treating and then transferring patients to the appropriate hospital, improving chances of survival and reducing the risk of long-term injury.
During the past few months, Freemasons from around the country have presented 20 other regional air ambulance services with grants totalling £192,000.
Paramedic Lizzie Morley said: “In a split second, unexpected things can happen that can change someone’s life forever.
"It’s in these moments that the North West Air Ambulance Charity will be at the right place, at the right time, making a life-changing difference.
"Whenever access is difficult or time is critical, the speed and accessibility of our helicopters makes our service absolutely vital.
"By being there for the charity today, we could be there for you, or your loved ones, tomorrow.”
