A WOMAN was killed in a crash on the M56 on Sunday morning.
The 26-year-old, from Runcorn, suffered fatal injuries following a collision between a HGV and a pedestrian on the motorway.
At 5am, police were called to the M56 westbound between junction 11 for Preston Brook and junction 12 to reports of a collision.
The motorway was shut for seven hours with traffic diverted via the A56 northbound.
