A 23-YEAR-OLD woman died after being hit by a train on Saturday.
Train services from Liverpool to Manchester were cancelled on Saturday afternoon following reports that someone had been hit on the tracks between Warrington and Manchester.
Today, Monday, a spokesperson for British Transport Police confirmed that a young woman had died.
The spokesperson said: "Shortly after 1pm on February 9, officers were called to Trafford Park station after reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Police and paramedics attended however a 23-year-old woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"The woman’s family have been informed.

"This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
