A BRAVE new line-up of dancers are ready to put on their sequins to raise money for charity.

Brainwave Strictly Summer takes place in June with 10 volunteers set to take to the dancefloor to raise money for the Birchwood-based children’s charity.

The night sees volunteers from the corporate world partner up with professional dancers from Cadman’s Dance School at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa near Knutsford.

The night, is set to be hosted by Beverley Uddin Khaddar, last year’s semi finalist and, among others, will see Lymm Florist, Carl Walsh, and Katie McCann, from Irwin Michell, put through their paces in a bid to impress the judges.

Brainwave regional fundraising manager, Joanne Freeman said: “This will be the second Brainwave Strictly Summer event and the contestants have already embraced the dancing cha-cha-challenge with their first training class”

At the launch was New Balance, sports ambassador, Ciara Mageean, former Irish 1,500m runner.

She said: “It’s exciting to see our staff being partnered up with the professional dancers and training in full swing as the battle begins.

“I am overwhelmed with the huge amount of support we have received over the past year, the judges Mike Marshall and Brainwave patron Lady Emma Fellowes, will be ready to judge the dancers, on the night. I am also calling on people to come along and enjoy this fantastic evening of stars, sequins and sparkle.

“I would like to wish all contestants the best of luck as they salsa and waltz it out to support Brainwave and help children with disabilities and additional needs to reach their potential”.

The event is supported by The Mere Golf Resort and Spa, Hale and Didsbury Salutions Publishing and Event Station.
